Minor flooding will continue to affect fields, rural roads, and gardens near Hempstead Mill on Hempstead Lane, Uckfield, the Roller Mill, Uckfield, and near Isfield Mill and Isfield Bridge, Isfield. The river is already falling in Buxted, and should peak in Uckfield by 13:00 27/11/2024. Only isolated showers are forecast Wednesday afternoon, through to Saturday. The river should begin to fall in Isfield by 19:00 27/11/2024. The River Uck should return to normal through all communities by Thursday morning. The forecast is uncertain, but rain Sunday 01/12/2024 could see minor flood impacts return. Flood protection products are recommended to be kept installed in Buxted and Isfield, if you have them. Between 15 and 30mm of rain is forecast through the early hours of Wednesday. There remains uncertainty, but if as much rain falls as predicted, flooding could be possible. From 03:00 27/11/2024 minor flooding could affect fields, rural roads, gardens and potentially approach riverside properties through Buxted, near the White Hart pub and areas around Hempstead Mill on Hempstead Lane, Uckfield. The river will be high through Uckfield. From 08:00 27/11/2024 flood water could affect fields and gardens in Isfield. Almost no rainfall is predicted Wednesday afternoon through to the weekend. The river should begin to fall by 15:00 27/11/2024 in Buxted, returning to normal by Thursday morning. In Isfield, river levels should begin to fall by 21:00 27/11/2024, returning to normal by midday Thursday. It is thought river levels could end up a little higher than following Storm Bert. Most rain passed to the east overnight. Less than 10mm of rain fell on the Uck. River levels are still rising a little, but have not risen significantly. Property flooding is no longer thought possible. River levels could continue rising until 11:00 17/10/2024 in Buxted, and 16:00 17/10/2024 in Isfield, but only minor flood impacts affecting fields, rural roads and gardens is expected. Only isolated showers are forecast over Thursday and Friday.  The river should return to normal by Friday 18/10/2024. A band of rain Saturday could potentially increase flood risk again. From 23:00 27/12/2021 minor flood impacts could affect the Roller Mill, Mill Lane, River Way, Bridge Cottage and Bell Walk, Uckfield. From 02:00 28/12/2021 flood water will affect fields and gardens in Isfield and could approach properties at Isfield Mill and Isfield Bridge. Tuesday will be mostly dry, but more rain is forecast for Wednesday. The river should begin to fall by 07:00 28/12/2021 in Buxted, and nearer to midday on Tuesday in Isfield, returning to normal on Tuesday evening. River levels could end up higher than recent days. From 19:45 on 07/12/2021 minor flooding could affect fields, rural roads, gardens and approach riverside properties through Buxted, near the White Hart pub and areas around Hempstead Mill on Hempstead Lane, Uckfield. Only minimal impacts are expected in Uckfield from 21:00 on 07/12/2021 at The Roller Mill, Mill Lane, River Way, Bridge Cottage & Bell Walk. From 23:00 on 07/12/2021 flood water will likely affect fields and gardens at Isfield Mill and Isfield Bridge. Further showers are possible overnight, but are expected to bring less than 5mm of rain. We think the river should begin to fall by 22:00 on 07/12/2021, in Buxted and 07:00 on 08/12/2021 in Isfield, returning to normal by midday Wednesday. Areas in Uckfield most at risk from 21:00 include The Roller Mill, Mill Lane, River Way, Bridge Cottage & Bell Walk. Light rain should clear the area by 23:00 and the river should begin to fall by 02:00 Monday 2/8/2021 in Buxted, and 10:00 2/8/2021 in Isfield. Only 5 mm of rain has so far been measured on Saturday morning, and we are now only expecting a few more millimetres before the end of the day. River levels will rise until approximately 13:00 on 30/01/2021 at Buxted, and 21:00 at Isfield. Minor impacts could still affect fields and rural roads. Flooding is now less likely to affect properties. River levels will probably not rise as high as they have been over the past few days. Sunday and Monday are forecast to be mostly dry too, which should allow river levels to fall nearer to normal by Sunday morning. Rain predicted on Tuesday (02/02/2021) will see river levels rise again, but we currently think flood impacts should again be minor.
